  1. first insert cd then restart the computer when computer starts up wait until computer says do you want to boot with cd or dvd?then you have to press enter and wait until installation coms up and there you can manage and fill the list up like user name and password and then windows automatically installs and after installing you have vista home premium.

for service pack 1:when you update the windows service pack 1 will com to your computer as an update.

but dont worry its easier than it looks.

    good luck.

  2. Did you get a restore disk when you purchased the computer.  Personally I would never purchase a computer without an OEM version of the Window software, but that is me (I build my own machines)

If it say the Vista is installed, what is the problem?  When you boot it us does vista come up?  If they did give you a disk, then put it in the CDROM drive and it will start automatically.  Just follows what it says.  I really at a loss to understand what you are telling me.

When a new PC is bought with Windows XP pre-installed, you don't get a 'proper' Microsoft Windows CD (this is to stop people making illegal copies of it) but you should have been supplied with a 'Recovery' disc which resets the PC back to the way it was when you first bought it. This recovery process is started in one of two ways, depending on whether a recovery CD is supplied, or a recovery floppy disk is supplied instead:

    1. If a recovery floppy disk is supplied, you boot from that and it then automatically starts the recovery process from a hidden backup of Windows setup files which are on the computer's hard disk.

    2. If a recovery CD is supplied (it may actually be 2 CDs) you boot from the first CD which starts the recovery process using setup files from the CD.

If you are sure you don't have these recovery disks, you should contact the PC supplier since he/they are supposed to supply recovery disks with every PC they sell that has xp pre-installed. This obligation forms part of their distribution agreement with Microsoft.
