Question:

How To Make a Good Turkey Sandwich

Hey, I'm 15, male. I started strength-training around a month ago, and as part of my routine I am eating healthier.

For lunch, my turkey sandwich really doesn't taste good; I only eat it since it is healthy and has protein.

I make it with 2 pieces of wheat bread, a lot of salsalitta turkey slices, and mustard. Any healthy ideas to make it better?

  3. TURKEY AND CRANBERRY CLUB SANDWICHES

    Makes 4 servings.

12 slices white or wheat bread, toasted

    1/2 c. cranberry-orange relish

4 slices turkey breast luncheon meat or cooked turkey

    4 slices American cheese

    Mayonnaise or salad dressing

    Leaf lettuce

4 slices honey loaf or chopped ham

    1 med. cucumber, thinly sliced

To assemble sandwiches, spread 4 of the toasted bread slices with some of the cranberry - orange relish. Top with turkey slices and American cheese slices. Spread one side of remaining slices of bread lightly with mayonnaise or salad dressing. Add 4 slices of bread, mayonnaise side up, to sandwiches. Top each sandwich with lettuce, 1 slice of honey loaf of ham, and some of the sliced cucumber. Add remaining slices of bread, mayonnaise side down. Cut each sandwich diagonally into triangles.

    VEGETABLE AND TURKEY SANDWICHES

    1/2 c. sliced green pepper

    1/2 c. tiny cauliflower florets

1 med. carrot in short julienne strips

    1 med. tomato, chopped

6-8 ripe pitted olives, sliced into circles

4 green onions (scallions) cut into sm. strips

1/2 c. reduced calorie Italian dressing

1/2 tsp. dried basil, crushed (optional)

    4 club rolls split

4 slices fully cooked turkey breast

Combine the first 6 ingredients. Stir in dressing, sprinkle the basil on top. Cover and refrigerate the veggies for 4 hours or overnight. Toast rolls if desired. Place turkey on roll, top with 1/4 of vegetable mix. Garnish with a leaf of lettuce, serve with hard boiled egg on the side.

hope these help.             good luck and enjoy.

  4. Use mayo instead of salsa and mustard....Use a whole wheat hard roll add some good lettuce and slices of tomato, avocado, and sprouts....and making turkey salad is also a good idea....cut up turkey, celery onions add mayo, salt and pepper mix it up, spread on roll and then add whatever toppings you like

  5. add cheese

  6. TURKEY SANDWICHES

8 slices whole wheat or rye bread

    Reduced calorie salad dressing

1 med. onion, thinly sliced, red or white

    4 oz. fresh mushrooms, sliced

    Lettuce leaves

    12 oz. shaved turkey

Lightly spread bread with salad dressing. Using 1 teaspoon oil, saute onion and then mushrooms; cook until tender. Layer with turkey slices, onion and mushroom mixture, lettuce and top with remaining slices of bread.

Open face sandwiches can be made by layering turkey, onion and mushroom mixture and then topped by slice of Mozzarella cheese. Heat in toaster oven or broiler until cheese begins to melt and slightly browned.

hope this helped and good luck :)

  7. The most important part of a sandwich is the bread.  Use a hard roll like a portugese roll.  What goes between the bread is up to you but your bread is most important.

  8. try one or more of these:

-greens (romain, spinach, iceberg, mixed greens)

-dried cranberries or cranberry sauce (although they are sweet, nothing is terrible for you in moderation)

-cheese (cheddar or swiss would be my suggestion)

    -cucumbers

    -green peppers

    -tomato

you could also try a chicken salad or a tuna salad sandwich (if you add grapes and walnuts you will get fresh fruit and omega-3)

whole grain bread is better for you as well...so you can check and see if the bread that you're using is "whole grain" or just "whole wheat"

  9. Best turkey sandwich...

    2 slice turkey

    1 slice swiss cheese

2 pc bread (wheat or white)

    1 leaf lettuce

    sliced tomatoes

    mayo/salad dressing

    Optional:  cucumbers, red onion, pickles.

I use cucumbers on mine when I have them.

If you don't like mayo, you could spritz a little raspberry vinegerette on it.  or 1000 island dressing.  I have known people to put blue cheese or ranch dressing on them also.

  10. why r u only puttin on mustard? dont u need all the cals u can get? put some mayo and luttuce and tomato on that baby, if u really like mustard put that on there to!
