How To Remove Smoke Smell From A Wooden Table?

I have a small dining table that I recently got and it has a strong smoke smell since it apparently came from a smoking home. Is there anything I can do to remove the smoke smell from the table?

Believe it or not, coffee grounds will make the smell go away.I use them(wet) to get paint thinner odor or anything else that smells off my hands.You have to use them wet though.

You could probably wipe it down with vinegar.

wash it down with vinegar and then sand lightly. Next, vanish it, sealing any smell inside, so it can't offend you anymore.

The smell is coming from a non-water soluble residue (the tar from the ciggys).

Take it outside and wipe it down carefully with mineral spirits changing rags frequently. This shouldn't  hurt the finish, but it will dissolve the stinky ciggy crud.

Adding - then polish it by your favorite method.
