Hi i was thinking about starting my own airline up i just wanted to know how much finance i would need for the airline and the C.A.A license and what would be better a wet lease (ACMI) or a dry lease and does wet lease include fuel

i was thinking to what would be the best airplane to start with becausei want to do international flights from manchester airport and none of the flights there do a direct flight to places like thailand, Newyork far out places like that so my airline was going to start that for a cheap price and i was'nt going to have a first class or bussiness class i was going to get rid of them to upgrade the economy class to give more leg room do you all think my idea could work?

  1. My uncle owns a few airlines...and...they mostly use 737's...and the biggest plane they have is a 777....if u want to do international flights...747 is awesome...also i dont know if ur a fan of airbus...the a340-600....has a longer range than a 74...non stop flight is 19+ hours i think...and about the lease i dont know....but i dont think it includes ground crew or fuel...not sure...and 5-15 million is definetly not enough...unless u want to buy a used 73..then maybe u can do something...but u can get a lot of money with interest if u have the right connections...so good luck...im on the way to opening my own airline too...and ive ordered 2 74's, but im thinking to get a380's instead, and i suggest u do the same...people will be more excited to fly them, although in my opinion a 747 is a much better plane...boeing period is way better...

  2. not sure bout the finance stuff buy start with a 737-300 i fly to england every year and this was definitely the best plane. Also if you want to fly in and out of manchester fly to chicago its a better airport and more people fly in and out that new york

  3. If you're asking this on yahoo, you don't have the resources to do it. Besides it's a bad time to enter market even established companies are loosing money, because of the oil prices.

  4. As airlines all over the world are grounding planes due to low demand, then, no this idea will never work.

Airlines make most of their money from 1st and business class passengers, getting rid of them will reduce your income considerably.

Plenty of airlines fly Manchester to New York
