And please spare me the "Fix the fence"-there is no fence,

"make a fence"-yeah right, 8 years of Bush and I only have half a tank of gas for the week in my AMERICAN car.

"Talk to the neighbor"-I don't speak manchurian.

  1. Animal control or the cops - any language knows what the badge means!

  2. You can't get near the dog?   Too bad.  You could simply chain the dog up in its yard.  You don't have to trap the dog.   All you have to do is call Animal Control and complain, LOUDLY and REPEATEDLY.  Call when the baby is crying.  Call when the dog is barking.  File a complaint for disturbing the peace.  Call the Police.  Call a lawyer.  Keep calling.  Most states view dogs as property so you must be very careful NOT to do anything that will harm that property in any way.  If you do, you may find out fast that your neighbors know enough English to sue the pants off you...and win.

Please try this:  when the baby cries, turn on the vacuum cleaner near the crib.  Loud monotonous noises make babies fall right to sleep.  I don't know why but it works like a charm.

  3. This Law- is Dog At Large! Your neighbor is breaking the Law. You can get traps at your local Humane society or if you can trust that the dog won't bite or harm you, put him on a leash, and call the Police to pick him up!

This is not fair to your baby, and your Neighbors have no respect what so ever for you.

I can't stand these kind of people, who just let their Dogs run all over!

  4. buy the neighbor an in-ground s***w in dog cable anchor, a bag of quick-crete (to hold the stake in place), get a pamphlet about local dog law, and a cable for tying the dog out.

Then draw a picture of their dog barking and your baby crying and you and your wife at wits end, so to speak! Put it on top of the gift of the tie out and the quick crete (this should put you back aout $10.00. A LOT cheaper than therapy or bail... lol!

If they need help figuring out what to do, do it for them! Easier to catch flies with honey, so tell them this is what we do in America, respect and help each other learn to respect the neighbors. We were all newbies in this country once...

  5. Phone animal control / bylaw office.  I'm guessing you're American, and I'm guessing it's illegal for him to have his dog on the loose.  He'll be fined, and hopefully learn to keep his dog away.

Even if you can't communicate with your neighbor, you can still get your point across.  Point at dog.  Point at your house.  Make dog barking noises, make baby crying noises.  Make angry shaking fist and frowning face.

Point at dog, point at his house... clap your hands and smile.

  6. We have had the same problem with our neighbor's dog running around loose. Every time you see the dog out call animal control and make a report. Give them as many details as you can, where, when, name of dog, dog's owner's name, owner's address, type of dog. They will send them tickets every time.

If you can catch the dog, use a large humane trap or a large box with some kind of treat in it, rib bones or leftovers and call animal control(hide trap first), tell them you don't know who owns the dog but it keeps coming by, they will take the dog to the pound, and either the owner will come and collect it and have to pay AC for catching and sheltering it or, since they obviously shouldn't have a dog if they let it run around, another family will adopt it.

The owner pays a a couple hundred bucks and gets the picture or the dog goes bye-bye, problem solved.

Also, in my area AC won't come out for an animal unless you've caught it, could be the same in yours I would call and find out. It might depend on what kind of dog, a rat dog, no, a rottweiler, yeah.

In the mean time get a white noise machine to block the barking.

    Good luck.

  7. Don't trap the dog. Just go and put the dog back in the yard. Try to talk to him, find someone in the family who speaks english and manchurian? So that they can translate to the owner. If it comes down to nothing call the ASPCA try to make an attempt to tell the man first!!!

  8. Call animal control and see if they have humane traps. In my area, they rent them out for $10. As soon as the dog is caught, call them to pick him up! OR, just call them the next time he's out of his yard!

  9. Goodness gracious, doesn't anyone answer the specific questions asked on here?

    -I have spoken

  10. Call animal control and report a stray loose on your property.  Paying a few citations for dog at large should convince them to keep their dog at home.

  11. There is an audio sonic dog repeller available where you aim the device at the dog and push a little button.  It emits a high pitched sound inaudible to a human (unless you put it right up to your ear and then it does kind of hurt LOL).  This will hopefully chase the dog away without you having to go outside and actively hunt it away.  Also it should interrupt the barking as well and may have the added bonus of dissuading the dog from coming into your space.

    Good luck.

  12. You can purchase live traps at Tractor Supply
