How Would I Register?

Question

I live in Ontario, and I'm almost 18. I'm joining the PC Party, and I have two questions:

-The federal PC party and the provincial PC party have 2 different websites, and I can sign up as a member on both sites. Should I sign up for both parties, or is it the same thing?

-Is this membership my registration, so that I can vote or do I even need to register? If not, what's the point of this membership?

Pretty basic questions, but I can't find the answers anywhere. Thanks in advance

Welcome to the confusing and depressing world of Canadian politics.

Perhaps it will help you to understand that there are NO federal offices for which you can vote in the first place.
