You obviously see bands playing electric guitars without any cables and I was just wondering how this is done?

  1. its a wireless system.  alot of bands don't use them, and alot of kids have them.  I got one when i was 14, and I don't use it always.  It depends on the side of the stage.  Basically theres a radio transmitter that plugs into the guitar, and a radio reciever plugged into the amp.  In music videos though, they just don't bother plugging in because its all synced anyway.  For concerts though, thats what they do.  Some guitarists even have them built into their guitars, but I cant think of any pros that do that nowadays.  Paul Gilbert used to.

  2. You use an infa-red/wireless adapter that's plugged in the amp and in the guitar. :)
