Question:

How about Agnieszka Radwanska now?

Four months ago I asked the question: "Will Agnieszka Radwanska make the top 10 before Australian Open 2009?" Eight people answered and only one thought she would do it. Me personally, I knew it. Below is a link to the WTA news page where it says, come Monday when the new rankings post, Aggie will be #10. All I can say is I told you so. Radwanska is the best thing to hit the WTA in this decade. I see her going FAR.

So, does any body think she has it in her to win a slam before the end of 2010? I do.

  1. i agree, although i did not answer your question, i read an article about her and i thought she would make the top 10 but i was thinking maybe in a couple years. well she really proved me wrong...she had an excellent run and wimbledon this year and i applaud her...especially for beating kutznetsova. we will definitely see great things from her...even though she needs a little more experience to beat the top power players like the william sisters.

i do believe she can win a grand slam in the coming years, maybe even sooner!! the radwanska sisters will be the next williams sisters!

  2. As Venus is in the final she will be ranked number 10, and I am sure the people who disagreed with you a few months ago will just say they didn't see Henin retiring! ;)

There is certainly a good argument for her moving up another couple of places before the end of the year as well.

She still has a fair bit to do before talk of her winning a Slam should come about, but for some to say she doesn't have the game for it is laughable.  The fact that maybe 7 women have a realistic chance at the US Open sums up how open the field is in women's tennis at the moment.  It isn't going to take a massive leap from anyone close to that pack to force their name on the list of possible winners as well.

So she has a very good chance of winning a Slam in the next couple of years in my opinion.

  3. I love Agnieska...she is a talented player, and I think she and her sister, Urzula, will do really well as pro tennis. I think they will win a few grand slam titles between them. I think they both have some maturing to do mentally, becuz Agney basically gave up in the match against Serena, and I thought she would pull out an upset. Nevertheless, I think Agney and Urzula will definitely win some grand slam titles.

  4. You what? She didn't exactly play like a top tenner against the Williams girl, did she? Beating Kuznetsova is all well and good but it ain't enough.

  5. I wish I had seen your question when you originally posted it months ago because I would have agreed with you 100%. I also believe that Victoria Azarenka is another player to watch and could be in the top ten this time next year or even sooner. Also Aggie's younger sister is already rank inside the top 50 I believe. She is definitely on the rise herself.

  6. Haha I remember you asking that question and I answered it by saying that I think she might get as high as #12 or #13 this year. Man was I wrong. I am glad Aga is already a Top 10 player. She certainly is one to watch out for in the future. She is always a real threat to beat the top players as proven by beating Kutznetsnova two times this year in Grand Slam events and by defeating Sharapova last year in the U.S. Open. I think she is fully capable of winning at least one Grand Slam by the end of 2010. Aga is among by favorites among the young guns along with Caroline Wozniacki.

  7. She doesn't have the game to be a grand slam winner, unless she gets an incredibly easy draw( and all the seeded players lose before they play her)

  8. i totally disagree with you, she still has a long way to go before grand slam
