Well, at least we know that's one the Chinese wouldn't get the gold in, anyway.. and for sure the Italians, Brazilians and Germans would show well, with the USA?

  1. "at least we know that's one the Chinese wouldn't get the gold in"

If I, the answerer could give you, the questioner, Best Answer, I'd do it as soon as the 4 hours were up.

  2. Um...sure. There's another event to that -- Formula One.

I think I'm about to cry.

  3. A-racing is not a true sport, the machines do the work and not the driver(athlete...lol)

B- they could never get together enough to agree on what type of car, open wheel, stock car, off road, etc...

C- The Chinese thing, with over 1 billion people, do you really think they could not find at least one person that could out drive Dale JR, who by the way is not that great of a driver anyway.

D- We can't get any rednecks in the Olympics good enough to win in archery, how the H@*l do you think we could get hem to drive for their country.

I can give you more reasons if you like

  4. I say WIFFLE BALL ; should be an Olympic Sport.

ALL THE WAY :DD  I mean, if they want to include

BALL ROOM DANCING, they should have WIFFLE BALL ! ♥

PS: i say YES to auto racing as a sport !

  5. As long as it's not that oval racing that sends us international race car fans asleep.

But it would have to be with cars that are evenly matched.

I wouldn't want to see F1 or Indy cars where the winner is usually decided by technology.

  6. Sure why not...they have everything else!

Racing is a sport.  It's difficult to breathe inside the car, and they are not designed to be comfortable.  It's as if you're standing up without being able to breathe easy for hours.  It takes mental and physical endurance to finish a race.  Unlike equestrian, where the horses are considered more of the athletes, F1 takes much more work from the drivers.

Your logic with the Chinese population is flawed.  Not everyone is exposed to the same culture, so no matter how many people you have, if no one cares about racing, you will not find as good of an athlete as a country which loves racing despite population.  Also, I'm sure if any racing is considered for selection, it would be Formula One, not NASCAR.

I think the main problem with racing as a sport is that it would really depend on the course, much like the way golf depends on the course.  It would be hard to set up, but it is a possibility.  It would be heavily European and Brazilian dominated.
