How about Dunlop Clubs for a beginner? Has anyone had any experience with Dunlop?

I found a deal for a 19-piece Dunlop starter set in an auction for $190. The MSRP is $349.99. It seems a bit more challenging than other starter sets since it only contains one 3h hybrid and includes 4-9 irons and the PW, however, that's the way I like to learn. It also comes with a sand wedge.

Do you think this is good for a starter set. I know the Dunlop name for sports equipment overall (especially tennis), so I would assume they should be good quality. I am already prepared for the fact that I am not going to get $1000+ quality with any box set.

  1. Yeah I agree. + most ideal swing weight. Invest in your local pro's advise. He might be able to find an extra 20 mph for you.. :)

  2. it would be better if you got a used set of namebrand irons. there is a big drop off in quality. even a begenner can tell the diffrence. you can get a good set for 100-150 on ebay
