Golf is a world wide sport. So I think it should be an Olympic

sport. You could have trials and obviously take the best from the countries that enter.Imagine the Tiger and Phil team. The tournament could be a 4 round match, like a regular tourney. The top three would medal. All the fun and the pressure of winning for your Country. What do you think?Good or bad idea?

  1. Great idea. I'm not exactly sure about a four round match. That may work but I would think of something like a set up similar to the Ryder Cup. Where there would be only 4 people per country. In my opinion that would work the best.

  2. I say put golf back in, team or individual I don't care (idea below for team though)... BUT, keep it to PURE amateur status players.  There is no reason to have the Olympics as a tour spot at all.

So, how about a TWO golf tournaments.  One, mens, one womens - team competition format. Team consist of each countries' top Amateur, Jr Amateur and Sr Amateur.   OR, this could get really interesting with six member teams made of the top Male and Females from each category.

Could make for an interesting hole when the top amateur drives it some 300y, the Sr puts it on the green and the Jr sinks a 50 footer.

  3. great idea, top 4 within each country should go and play

  4. I think it golf was actually an Olympic event early in the 20th century. No idea why they took it out.

Fuzzy memory, but I think it was also a demo event last summer Olympics.

Yeah, it'd be a good idea to have it in.

  5. welll  good thing it's not in this years olympics, we wouldn't have tiger
