  1. BEST WESTERN!!! cheap and great!!!!!!!! not too far from the center of rome either, all you have to do is take the train from termini to rome!  It will take you right in frount of the collosiem in less than 10 minutes!

  2. Hei there was someone asking this here just a day earlier….

Here is my answer to him…:

Unfortunately Rome accommodation is not cheap. Especially if you thinks ‘hotels’.

Yet, there are some rather cheap places near Termini station but it’s about 4-5 bus stops from the main attractions of Rome.

One cool place is this one near termini: http://www.retrome.net it’s about 80 euro a night per person. You should speak to a guy name Moti. And there is also a nice place but a bit more expensive ran by a nice couple Linda and Steve http://www.the-beehive.com it’s also very clean.

Another good way to split expenses and be at the centre is renting a small apartment at the centre from a privet owner that lets it for short terms for tourists. this will allow you to share the expenses (between 100-150 for 2-4 people) and still be at the centre. You will also be able to cook at the place so you’ll save on restaurants.

    Here are some:

    Near the coliseum: http://tinyurl.com/yljsr4

    Near the Roman Forum:  http://tinyurl.com/ykkyj7

At the jewish ghetto (very central, close to trastevere and campo di fiori, rome’s main night life areas):  http://tinyurl.com/yn4jj2

    Hope that helps.

Have a good trip and happy new year.

  3. Hotels in Italy are NOT cheap.  Check online, and then choose the one you prefer.

  4. I know you said HOTEL but I stayed at a great hostel that I believe has private rooms. It was the Pop-Inn Hostel right by the Termini train station, it was so easy to find, pretty cheap (17E/nt for a dorm room) and has a great free breakfast.

  5. minka hotel

  6. I would use priceline and name my own price.  Maybe check betterbidding.com for previous bid prices to get lowest price for a room in rome.
