I think we can all afford to take one day off (like a Wednesday) and show solidarity in our resolve to really make a proper statement to our so-called leaders and the oil companies that this gouging and thievery of our way of life and prosperity will not be tolerated. When we decide on the day we all must NOT go out and do anything, stay off roads, do only things around our homes and families. this will be the most influential way to make us heard. The silence will be deafening!!

  1. How come we haven't been asked or directed by the Government to conserve gas by carpooling and avoiding unnecessary trips and driving 55??? That is a question worthy of a real answer.

PS one day of a gas strike will do nothing. Cutting your consumption in half over one month will !

  2. im gonna rob a bank on that day since no one is working.

  3. Or, we could try to make a real difference and start walking, riding bikes, and using public transportation.  Taking one day off would be a joke.

  4. Kind of meaningless if a thousand people say "Yeah! I'm mad too!" You haven't said what you actually want done in response to your protest. You may get a bunch of people agreeing with your protest idea, then they find out what you think should be done about the problem and your support drops to zero.

  5. One day, will probably not be enough. But it is a start. We have to all agree to a specific day. May 6 is out, I'm voting in the primary that day. Let's do it May 4th or 5th.

  6. I have a better idea Every body Fill thier tank and drive off! or better yet . hijack tanker trucksand take the gas  can they afford that. I say Free Gas for a day!!!!! by any means neccessary

  7. How about a week and see if those gouging prices would go down?  It's up to $3.70 a gallon where I live and it's getting ridiculous.   I can't afford to go anywhere and stuck at home most of the time!

We drill oil in Alaska and you'd think we'd have cheaper gas prices!  Oh h**l no!  It's making someone very rich and weakening our economy big time.

I think we should go back to Horse and Buggies!  That would show those money hungry greedy scoundrals!  But the cost of a horse is sky high anymore too!

  8. Better yet, lets open up oil drilling in the US,allow more refineries to be built, get rid of ethanol and blended fuels(regulated by the Govt)Environmentalist lobbyists, and for that matter, the taxes on fuel that are supposed to fix our roads(since they usaully put an ammendment on every ballot for the same initiative roads!) so get the Government out of the fuel business(after all, they dont drill it,explore it,refine it,or distribute it) but they seem to take a lot of money from it!

  9. Hm, and that's going to make,

Canada, Venezuela, Nigeria, Mexico, Russia, Saudi,Netherlands, Britain

Change what they charge the US for imported oil,

    HOW ???

Gasoline prices are high, because the OIL companies, have to pay $117.00 for a barrel of oil, to refine into gasoline.

You did know, the OIL companies have to buy 65% of the oil they refine,

    Right ?????
