  1. if u dont want to use ankle weights...they came out with these new shoes that are suppose to increase your vertical 5-10 inches. They are called JUMPSOLES VERSION 4.0 and they are weighted but they attach to the bottom of your sneakers. I hear they actually work, but they are pricey. (Usually around $80 for a pair and an instuctional CD)

  2. YEA WE USE THEM ALL THE TIME FOR BASKETBALL AND VOLLEYBALL!!!!!!!!!

  3. well out club coach had us train with ankle weights and our teams average verticle improved tramendously! i just wouldn't do it like every day because it's not really good for your legs. but training with them for a little while is totally fine and really helpful!!

  4. Yeah I've been told by some basketball teammates that they can help and at the same time I've read that they can pull on your ligaments, tendons and muscles in your legs creating some serious damage.  If you're really looking for a way to improve your vertical stick with core body exercises like squats (which should only be done with the proper technique) and plyometrics.  It's a slower process but it gets the job done.
