Question:

How about this, how about we stop attacking the opponent's candidate and look into what is good in both?

Is McCain really a bad guy. Is Obama? Politics aside, I woulbn't mind either as a friend. If they would be interested in being my friend. They both seem very sincere. The media, exposure, special interest groups make a b*****d out of any candidate. John Kennedy could run and people would be saying bad things about him. Oh wait a minute, I have to look it up, they did say bad things about him. Oh so Lincoln could run, wait, they said bad things about him too.

Don't you think its time to end the name calling and negative politcking?

  1. Should the facts be ignored.  Virtually everything I've seen has been factual, except for the accusations of Obama being a socialist, communist, and a muslim, etc.  What has been said about Palin is in direct contrast to the positions she's taken politically.  She even referenced the "imperfections" in her own speech.  John McCain has been trying to distance himself from how he's voted for the past 8 years.

  2. that would be great.

  3. EXACTLY!!!!

  4. I agree. That would be great, but it won't happen.

But, in this new spirit of congeniality and goodwill, let me be the first to say that Barack Hussein Obama is one helluva community organizer!

  5. One of the few good points I have seen lately. Nice job.

  6. I agree - I just want to know who to believe!!

  7. But that's not much fun, geez.

I personally think they are both good men.  It's just a question of who's politics you agree with.  I don't agree with Obama on much, so I'm going with McCain.

  8. That's a fabulous idea.  Can we add stop attacking spouses and children of the candidates to that list, too?

However, I'm afraid that most people have an us-versus-them mentality.  And I'll even include myself in that characterization.

  9. You're right, I think that with all these politics we tend to forget that these two are pretty good guys, just with very different views.

  10. hahaha! i agree...but then this wouldnt be Politics...remember this is POLITICS...thats the way they work...nobody cares about anybodys feelings or good qualities they may show as a human being, Politics can and will tear somebody apart. it would be nice if things were the way you explained...but then who would win the race??? We can only have 1 president...if everybody just talked about the good stuff, there would never be an end to this race, thats why people throw in the negative things, to draw negative feelings towards that person and hopefully make the other win. thats why i dont vote...politics will always be politics no matter who you vote for.

  11. Absolutely.  It's discouraging that everything devolves into the back and forth partisan bickering and "gotcha" sound bites.  Part of the problem is that people have short attention spans and aren't willing to put in the time and brain power necessary to understand and openly discuss the issues.  I think part of it is just human nature though and really isn't any different today than it always was.  The stuff they said about Andrew Jackson's wife way-back-when may have been some of the nastiest stuff ever in a campaign. - - - George Washington's concerns (in his Farewell Address) about the creation of political parties has turned out to be pretty much on target.
