  1. We're very accepting...unless your the KKK (which we do have here in some parts, people just don't normally know it - but there are more in the USA).

I have had Indian boyfriends (Muslim or Hindu), Black boyfriends, Spanish boyfriends, you name it. :P So yeah. We are very accepting. ^_^

  2. No problem for me .Im canadian   She is Filipino  Married 25  years

  3. I've never lived in Canada so I can't give you first hand experiences, but from everything I've read they are very liberal! I would assume this is not an issue.

  4. Canadians generally believe that people should be happy.  So if having a same-s*x or inter-racial relationship makes you happy, most Canadians wouldn't even notice.  It's quite common here.  I used to have friends in high school that had exclusively interracial relationships -- it's hard to avoid, being that there are so many cultures represented in Canada.

We're much more concerned that you are polite to one another, and not overtly making out in public. It's not polite to be slobbering on each other in public, whether an interracial g*y couple, or caucasian heteros.  Either way, get a room :)

  5. No problem!

  6. no one bats an eye.  It isnt an issue.

  7. i am a brit married to a cree (north american indian) and there is no problem outside of the 'indian' community, within it there are still some who are hostile because of 'taking their man/woman'

the biggest problem we have is with the people who have a problem dealing with our age difference (15 yrs)

  8. It's not a problem and it certainly isn't rare.

Canadians come in all shapes and sizes, from A -Afghanistan, to Z Zaire, and everytyhing in between.

  9. Very tolerant throughout Canada, but it wasn't always like that.  In Canada's history, a lot of half-breed (half-native half-European) offspring felt part of a new ethnic group struggling for representation in Canada.

Today Canada sets a good example for cultural diversity across the board.

  10. We're totally accepting of interracial relationships. Of course not everyone is, and you might get a few stares, but those people are ignorant, so don't worry about how they feel.

But also you have to remember that a lot of people are from mixed race marriages.

  11. Almost half the country is in an interracial relationship.  It really isn't an issue.  I'm a black Canadian and dated several other races (34 and still single ;))   My close friends, one is Chinese, married to an Israeli and she converted to Judaism, so even with both race and religion, ultimately it did not matter to them or their parents.  Another friend is Korean and married to a white Brit.  Although of course there are some cultures that traditionally prefer to stay within their own race (i.e. I have a Pakistani-Canadian friend whose family is still quite traditional and his father sent him back to Pakistan to "choose" a bride, and they later returned to Toronto).

Everyone is quite accepting of others' differences, we see "people" before we see colour.  I've yet to experience any racism in Canada.  After moving to the States, I cannot count how many times in just 11 years I have experienced racism from both black and white Americans.

  12. Most people just don't care.  We are all such a mix of races for the most part.  I guess you can always find some idiots who will take the time to get upset about it but they are few and far between.
