  1. Way too early 5 days is the soonest and sometimes that is always right

  2. 9 days is way too early, implantation isn't even complete yet.  Five days before your period is the soonest you could test and even that will only by 60% accurate.  The best time to test is 12 days after ovulation or later.

    Good luck.

  3. ABSOLUTELY there is still a chance...9 days is a long time.  I tested every day from 5 days before on and didn't get a positive until 1 day before my expected period.  Good luck!!!

  4. I hope so, I took one today and it was neg also. Im very fatigued, tender nipples, had lower abdomen pain.

My period is not due until the 3rd. But I was curious.

    Good luck to you!!

  5. If you get a positive, they are of course accurate but if you get a negative, then you might still be pregnant.

The average level of HCG (the pregnancy hormone that the tests detect) at 14 DPO-the day your period is due-is 40 miU/mL.  Each test has a different sensitivity level, but if the test is set to pick up at 40, then it is unlikely to pick up before that.

HCG doubles every 24-48 hours.  So, if the average HCG level at 14 DPO is 40, then at 12 days it is 20, at 10 days it is 10.  You can see how a test that measures 40 miU/mL will not pick up if it is just a day or two too early.

Some people can have a positive that far in advance (I did with one of my pregnancies-a full week before my period was due), but many do not.  I know with my second pregnancy, I waited until the day my period was due and still got a negative that then turned to a very faint positive (and the test was more sensitive than the one I used with my first pregnancy).

I hope you get a positive in a few days.  If you are not familiar with it, http://www.PeeOnAStick.com is a good site to obsess over while you wait.

  6. Yes there is.

I recently read somewhere that your body produces hcg into your bloodstream only after implantation has occured and never before.

So, if you are on a standard 28 day cycle, you probably wont have implanted yet and I don't think a blood test will show now.

I'm afraid your going to have to wait out the next few days to test again.

    Good Luck and babydust

  7. 9 days seems waaay too early, check the directions on the test it should tell you when it is ok to test, plus the accuracy goes up the closer you get to your missed period date, I'm not sure of the dates but i remember reading them on every test I've bought

  8. Normally, the soonest a pregnancy test would be accurate would be 4-5 days before your expected period, so there is definitely still hope, as I think you tested too early. The closer you test to your expected period, the more accurate it will be. The earliest I've heard of someone getting a positive result was 5 days past ovulation, and that is soooo rare. Getting a positive around 9-11 days past ovulation is more like it. Some women can test positive that early. Some women don't test positive till after their period is missed. Others first test positive 2 wks after missing. It all depends on how much hCG is present in your urine, and if it's enough to be detected by the hpt. If you want to continue to keep testing early, you need to get a sensitive test. First Response can detect the smallest trace of hCG, therefore making it possible to test positive 4-5 days prior to your expected period. These sensitive tests do not work for everyone. It really just depends on how much hCG you're producing and if it is enough to show up on the hpt. hCG doubles about every 48 hours or so in early pregnancy, so test every couple of days. Good luck to you, and don't loose hope, I truly believe you tested way too early. Test again 4-5 days before your period is due. I hope this is your lucky month!

  9. Very rare that a women will get a + 9 days before her period.

You should wait until 4 days before and re-test using an early detection test and first morning urine.

  10. A negative result 9 days before your missed period doesn't mean a darned thing.  Wait a week and test again.
