  1. Ak is not very accurate at all. That is why the Army made M16s 2a the GI. And that is why third world countries have so many.

  2. its not really made for that...its made more for urban warfare and close quarters shooting.

  3. I can hit an 8 inch target from 100 yards with mine which is a semi auto.

That's not to spectacular in the world of rifle shooting. But in general they shoot pretty straight and flat within 100 yards. You'd have no problem getting hits on an IDPA target with an AK from 50 to 200 yards I would think.

I can hit a target half that small with my AR-15 and the rifle is more accurate than I am.

  4. Much more accurate than when on full auto...

The AK-47 is a 100 meter battle rifle

It was designed to be made cheap

    made fast

    use inexpensive ammo

be drug through the mud, sand, and ice

and still be able to fire

After about 75 meters you could get a "Wild" shot

I use an sks (kinda like an AK) for hog hunting sometimes and I will not try a 75 meter shot with it.

The AK-47 is a close to mid quarter rifle.

  5. Accurate??  Depends on what you mean by accurate. Can an AK get sub MOA groups at 100 yards - Nope!.... I can get all 20 rounds in the magazine of any of my AK47 type rifles into a 12 inch steel plate at 100 yards.... Ak's were designed for war - people to be specific and yes they are accurate enough to hit a person at 100 yards......   If you want an accurate rifle that shoots 7.62X39MM to 200 yards then consider the CZ 527 Carbine Bolt Action Rifle....

The 7.62X39MM gets a bad rap for accuracy when in fact the problem is the military type rifles that generaly shoot this stuff (AK SKS)....  The 7.62X39MM is accurate to 200 yards. The AK ammo is a close range cartridge with ballistics similar to the old Winchester 30/30.... Its great for short range use but is not a long range cartridge....
