  1. my doctor was pretty accurate with my first.. at 37 weeks he said 5 pounds...   and she came out 4.11....  ultrasounds can be off by a pound either way.

  2. My dr. said 7 lb by the size of me, and he came out 7lb even.

  3. a JOKE.. a BIG HAHAHAHAHAHA... at 38weeks they said he was 8pounds1oz  .... so the DR 3.5 weeks later was all we need a C_Section cuz hes going to be TOO BIG... im like.. No. id like to TRY a natural birth 1st please...  Shes all WELL FINE!! hes going to be to big so you can be in pain for a few hours and we will do a CSection then (HER EXACT WORDS!)....

i gave birth to a 9 pound 10oz boy naturaly...

crappy Dr's  were saying he was going to be 11-12pounds+

  4. I would guess fairly accurate or they wouldn't do it.

  5. I think I've read somewhere that they can be off by up to 20%.  With my first, they said he was 6lbs+ 2 weeks before he was born, and he came out weighing 5lbs 13oz.

  6. Depends on what method they used to guess the baby's weight, Just by size of belly or externally feeling it..can be off by a lb or so. Regular ol' u/s just looking at baby and guessing, same. If they do the good u/s where they actually measure the bones, and lengthes those are pretty accurate

  7. they was wrong with mine, they said he was about 1lb smaller than he actually was

  8. With my first they were only off by 4oz.

  9. doc said no more than 5.5 pounds. he was 7 lbs 12 oz!!!!

  10. My doctor has always been very accurate; off by an ounce or two! With all 3 of my babies! She will give an estimate for this last one, soon. (And, this is without ultrasound: she simply pushes on my belly, and guesses.)

  11. In my experience it wasn't accurate. And it usually isn't when done later in pregnancy. I was told at 37 weeks that my baby was 7.5 lbs and to expect a 9+ pound baby. He came out weighing 7 lbs. 3 oz.
