  1. bettas arent very active when there healthy and if they wernt healthy it would mainly be from stress and theres nothing you can do when they r stressed and if he was sick he would have signs of unhealthyness and i dont know the signs but you can find a care sheet at www.petco.com so just go to the paig i put on here and that will tell you everything u need to know! good luck!!!!!

  2. Betta's generally float around and look pretty. If they are doing anything other than that, they are probably aggressive in some way.

To make sure it's not the water, test for nitrates and nitrites as these can stress the fish out and cause them to slow their movements.

Chlorine and ammonia are also large factors here. Chlorine can be eliminated with water conditioners during water changes. I also have a 2 gallon aquarium so I have an idea of the size of your tank. Two betta's in a tank like that will produce lots of ammonia. And without a plant in there to filter the ammonia, you will be better off doing partial water changes of about 1/4 tank water change every week or so.

  3. Healthy Betta's are very active curious little guys and gals. If they are lying listless on the bottom then something is wrong with them.

Edit: I have 5 male Betta's and they are all over there tanks and love to stare at objects out side there tanks. I have 1 in a ten gallon heated filter with cories. I have 4 in a divided 20g long that is also heated with a filter. (Very spoiled Betta's (:)

  4. They aren't very active animals.

They just kind of mind their own business. Sitting still is a very normal thing for them, especially since they are kept in such small places.
