Like won`t the seller be able to cheat on me? won`t he be able to keep the product he shows on the shopping website and still get the money?

  1. I disagree about Amazon. I ordered a book, it never showed up. I got the run around forever. Went into the

Sellers profile and they had been scamming people forever on Amazon. I contacted Amazon and all they would say is that I should have bought from "them" and taken advantage of their guarantee.....

  2. Amazon is pretty straight forward.  They do a good job monitoring all the different retailers that use their website.  Also they will refund if you don't receive your product and do an investigation on the seller.

As for Ebay make sure you use PayPal when sending payment.  PayPal will refund your money if you don't receive your product.  Also look at the Feedback Rating of your seller.  If you stick with the customers who have a 95% or better, than you are usually pretty safe.

But technically yes they can cheat you, but Ebay and Amazon pay a lot of $ to their claim department to ensure that this doesn't happen too often.  And PayPal made their business handling website transactions.

  3. sure it's a gamble but you check their feedback and past transactions to determine how much of a risk it is. most of the times its safe

pay through credit card for most protection

  4. You need to carefully check the seller's feedback. If they have 98%-100% positive feedback, there's no possible way they could be cheating people, or they simply wouldn't have such a good score.

I have been a member of eBay since 1999 and have not even ONCE been cheated or scammed in any way. Out of hundreds of purchases, the few times my item got lost in the mail, I have always been offered a free replacement or a full refund of my money by the seller responsible. The huge majority of seller on eBay are honest and trustworthy. You only need to look at their feedback to make sure before you bid/buy.

I have also purchased from sellers on Amazon on many occasions. Again, check their feedback. This will tell you everything you need to know about how trustworthy they are.
