Question:

How am I supposed to destroy old license plates?

The DMV sent me new plates and instructions to destroy the old ones. What the heck am I supposed to do to destoy them?

  1. mount it on a wall for decoration, that is what I did


  2. I keep my old plates so when you move state to state you can hang them in your garage and pretend like you're cool.

    make a small bird house out of wood and bend the plate in half to make the roof - it looks pretty cool and it recycles.

    get creative and cut them into cool shapes (stars or snow flakes) with tin snips or heavy duty scissors (wear gloves because the cut metal will be sharp) and make christmas ornaments - paint them with spray paint and glitter.

    cut it into strips and make a wind chime


  3. Hammer down the letter/number bumps...

    Cut it up with heavy-duty scissors/pliers...

  4. Don't waste your time trying to cut up or bend a plate. Take it to the dmv whenever you have time & turn them in. They can't refuse that. They in turn will dispose of them. That's what they are there for.
