So I did this art project for english that everyone had to do that had to do with symbolism about a book each of us read. I thought I did a pretty good job on mine and I was pretty proud -- until I saw everyone elses the day it was due. Mine was a piece of c**p compared to theirs, literally every single other person had a wide variety of materials and they'd used wood and foam boards, paints, broken mirrors. The idea beneath mine was overall good, but it I made it too simpistic, I did't know it was supposed to be so complicated. It didn't say on the directions how complicated it had to be. So here's my piece of s*** compared to everyone elses. now i have to do a PRESENTATION explaining about my piece of c**p, and CONFIDENTLY as well. How am I supposed to do that when I was embarassed for people to even SEE it the day it was due?

  1. english is about the written word, you never saw Shakespeare glue foam to wood, words were enough for him, I can't believe all your classmates suddenly had inspired visions about the english language at once.

  2. This happens to me all the time, so I know how you feel >< What   I usually do is just add humor to the presentation.  You could also say that you made the project simple on purpose to emphasize something about the topic. The teacher actually bought it when I said that. If you don't think that could work then you can just make it better over the weekend I guess.

  3. Don't do it

  4. Just own it. You know, make it funny and be proud that you did less work to get your point across. Or wear a costume or something. Teachers go mad for that kind of raw humiliation.

  5. yea i just make it seem like i dont give a sh*t when i dont try hard on a presentation.

  6. Well, you are sitting at your computer on The first night of a three day weekend. Figure out how you can improve your presentation and you have three days to get it right.

Either that, or put so much effort and enthusiasm into the verbal presentation part of your report that the visual aspect really isn't necessary

  7. McLovin3 was right on with the statement, "You could also say that you made the project simple on purpose to emphasize something about the topic."

This is a good time to use the phrase that keeps showing up everywhere:

    "Less is More."

Also remember that you are your own worst critic and that your opinion of your project may be somewhat skewed.
