Question:

How am I supposed to get lodged food out of my wisdom teeth sockets?

I got part of a noodle in it last night that I couldn't get out and some oats from my oatmeal this morning. I just did the warm salt water "rinse" and brushed my teeth but it still won't come out and I don't want an infection/bacteria of any type to form in my sockets, what do I do?

  1. My wisdom teeth were impacted & I had to have oral surgery leaving me with these huge holes that continued to collect food. The oral surgeon gave me this plastic thing you fill with water & you squirt the water into the socket to loosen the food. I don't know if they sell them in the stores, so contact the dentist/oral surgeon who extracted your wisdom teeth or maybe a pharmacy.

  2. Had mine cut out a couple months ago. My surgeon also gave me a clear, plastic squirter I had to use at least twice a day. A LOT of food was getting stuck in mine because my holes were huge. I had really bad impactions. The doctor didn't give it to me until my second follow up. Guess he thought I would irritate the sockets.
