  1. I know Berea College can give you a full scholarship.  I go there myself. List of other schools that offer full scholarship: http://www.gotoamericancollege.info

  2. Honestly, with a 2.3 GPA, you are probably looking at a community college for the first two years, so the costs will be very low.  After that, if you transfer to a 4-year university, you will be offered a financial aid package.  The chances are that much of it will be in loans, but there are also things like work-study and grants, if your family is low income.  In addition, you will be able to work part-time.

  3. You get a student loan or a scholorship. Apply for scholorships from your school - Also get a part time job while you're in college.

  4. First, you don't have to pay $2000/year for college. Look into a community college your first two years, then transfer to a state college. Try your best to get good grades, & apply for all the scholorships & stuff you can. Work as long as you can keep your grades up - that will help you pay for college. Also, resist the urge to move out unless you have to. It is easier to save money living at home than on your own. If you can, get a job now & save for a vehicle, and then save what you can for college.

Regardless of your family is actually willing to pay, the government will treat your finances like they are going to help pay. This makes the loan amounts smaller. Would your parents be willing to co-sign for a loan? there are more than government loans out there - but they do have higher intrest rates.

You can talk to your school counselor for help locating scholorships and grants. There are a lot that are need-based. THey calculate need by your income - and your parents.

Don't let money worries let you decide not to go to school!

  5. At my university the cost is about$16,000 and that is figuring in meals and housing. I go to a State University. You can get grants & loans & work part-time or full-time. I hate to tell you but college is not guaranteed to you, it is a privlege and a blessing. You sound (and I may be wrong) as if it is owed to you & I hate to tell you but it's not. I had a 3.75 gpa in high school & I still am paying my way. What sports do you play? Did you letter in any? Did you make the state champioships or state competitions in any? If not, saying you are a pretty good athlete is not really saying anything. Even if you were a very good athlete unless you are in football or basketball, the odds of getting a full scholarhship are pretty slim. For example, colleges are approved by the NCAA to give 11.5 schoalrships per years for baseballl. So, unless you are REALLY good and they REALLY want you, then I would not count on that.
