I have social anxiety and if it was just that, it wouldn't be a problem. It's just that I sweat a lot on my face when I'm in a social setting. But I mean profuse sweating where it's dripping down my face into a puddle. It's very visible and it makes me very self-conscious, and it probally makes the others around me uncomfortable and feel awkward as well.

But I want to take Muay Thai to build my confidence. But also discipline, commitment, sharing a common goal with other people, physical and mental health and so on.

But how can I with my sweating problem? I found an awesome Muay Thai gym and everyone is really nice, a real positive environment. I went in to check out a class. I was just sitting and watching but even that made me start sweating profusly. One of the guys that work there sat with me and talked about the classes and so on, I was sweating the whole time. I just kept wiping my face with a paper towel, I don't know what he was thinking watching me sweat like that.

  1. Drink plenty of water to cool your body temp. Also it's a gym nobody cares. Like the last guy said everyone will be sweating.

  2. man what a coincidence !i suffer from anxiety issues also, and i train muay thai.it's all a behavioral disorder and you learned it you can also unlearn it. it just takes time.the sweating is the least of your problems.try some self help c ds.good luck man.i really understand and feel for you.i get nauseous and dizzy when i'm in a social setting.but i'm trying any means possible to overcome it.i'm confident i will, and so will you.god bless.

  3. Wear a headband or bandanna over your forehead. For body sweat you can get underclothes designed for police/military to use under kevlar vests that wick away the sweat.

  4. trim ur hair, and wear a head band, i take kickboxing and i have yet to ***** at someone, or be bitched at for sweating , so i wouldent worry about it

  5. Wear light loose clothing and dont worry about it because before you know it everyone in the class will be sweating like crazy.

  6. you should talk to the instructor about the situation. he may be able to help. i say take the class. every one in the class should be disciplined enough to not make a big deal out of your sweaty situation. then, when you're done, youll be more confident, and probobly wont sweat as much.
