  1. well... you should really stick to one instructor and commit.  no way that you can get different points of views at the same time.  tell your instructor that you want to keep it simple and work ont he fundamentals..... and it really depends on which area you are living in...  for example, if you live in california and around san francisco, your scores will be disregarded.  we have freshmen girls that shot a 72 at torrey pines, two weeks after the u.s open.  and she is a number 3 in our team.  our number one averaged under par.  and i, second in my team....  shot around even par with couple of under par rounds here and there.  all the starting members could shoot in the 70's and one or two in the high 60's on excellent days.  so i am not sure if 90 is gonna get you anywhere in cali.  but i do know that competition is not as high unless you live in states like oregon, cali, hawaii and arizona.  i would say that you need to practice a tad harder.  if you play about 3 times a week, practice 3 times a week and play once a week.  work hard on your putting and spend minimum of 15 mins per day on the putting green.  i don't know how much time you have before your h.s tryout but good luck and never give up. it really depends on the level of your h.s team. i know some teams in wisconsin that just shoots in the 100's all the time... so idk...  but you should def check the high school sports website and look for golf and look for some news. see what their number one shoots most of the times in matches.  and then add 5 strokes to his score and see if you are there. thats just a rule of thumb.  5 additional strokes to his score would probably mean you will make it but won't start.

  2. dont buy NIKE :)

nike is just not for golf

buy those golf brand like t*t. Cal.

  3. stay with one pro........

write down each game....each shot.....not just the score.find your strengths and weaknesses........

98% is the player, not the clubs........

  4. okay

  5. depending on where you live depends on where you are gonna play. To be honest, where i live you wouldnt make the high school team. Sorry, but 100 average doesnt cut it at 90% of the high schools. You should first stick with one professional and then focus on one part of your game that you waste the most strokes on. For me, breaking 85 was difficult, and then i found out that i was wasting too many strokes around the green. So then, i focused on my putting and chipping for a whole summer, and now i expect to break 85 everytime. You need to start working, depending on how old you are. good luck man, and those slingshot irons are awesome, they have an awesome feel and they are forgiving. Practice is the key, instead of just playing 18 holes. Hit on the range and then play 9 holes. However if you've only been playing a couple of months, your well on your way. Good luck :)

  6. For only having played 2 months you're doing well to be shooting in the 90-110 range.  You should see that improve fairly rapidly until you reach around 85, at which point it will become harder to cut strokes.

Definitely stick with one pro, but try to choose one that teaches a lot of lessons.  Don't necesssarily pick the best player.  You want the best teacher.  You'd be surprised how some very mediocre players make escellent teachers.
