I know that it isn't THAT good but i am only a freshmen and I take a lot of hard honors classes.

thanks!

  1. It depends on the scale.  Most GPA scales are out of 4.0, some are out of 5.0.  You would need to check with your school to make sure what your scale is.

    On a 4.0 scale:

    4.0 - A

    3.0 - B

    2.0 - C

    1.0 - D

So with a 3.46 you have a solid B+ average, which is very good for taking honors classes!

  2. It really depends on what college your trying to get into, and what major you declare. For instance, to get into pre-med, it may not be enough. To get into a softer degree, like computers or psychology it may be ok. Also if you are attempting to get into a 4 yr college or a Jr college. Good Luck and keep up the good work.

  3. That's very good...keep up the good work.

Become involved in extracurricular activities, clubs, sports, and volunteering. All of that looks great on college applications too.

  4. A 3.46 GPA is like a B+. Think of it this way: you got a 346 out of 400

  5. That's a good GPA, just keep up the good work.

  6. 3.0 is a B.  If you have a 3.46 your a B+ student.

  7. You're a B/B+ student. It's OK, not great. I'd try to get above 3.5 if you can. They will take into account the difficulty of your class schedule, but that doesn't change the fact that you'll be up against honor students with 4.0. You should look into AP classes and dual enrollment when you're a sophomore/junior.

Extracurriculars are also important. Look into some clubs, sports, etc. National Honor Society, Key Club, etc.

Community service looks good as well.

  8. I had a 3.5 graduating gpa and was accepted to several top 20 universities (and am currently attending one) .  Every high school is different so what may be a 'good' gpa from your school is not so great from another one.  Your class rank, what classes you took, and your SAT all end up giving colleges a more accurate reflection of your abilities.  Electives and honors calculus are factored in the same way for your gpa, even though one can be significantly more difficult than the other, and colleges know that.  Colleges also don't expect you to be perfect in everything!
