I am going to have to fly to florida. Then once i get off the airplane how am i supposed to get to the cruise ships port if I dont have a car? I dont want to rent a car for a week only to have to pay to have it sit. I'm sure this is a common problem that there is a obvious solution to. The port the ship leaves from is 3 hours away from the airport.

  1. Taxi or buy ship transfers from the cruise line.

Compare the cost and take the cheapest route.

    Have a great cruise.

  2. That far away, you'd probably have to use the cruise line transfers.  But I can't figure out where you'd be leaving from Florida that the airport would be that far away!  Only other option would probably be to rent a car, even if you do have to "let it sit"; you'll need it when you get back, too.

  3. Call your cruise line and arrange for ground transportation.  They will have cruise line representatives at baggage claim with your name on their roster. The cruise line WILL take good care of you.

    Bon Voyage!!!

  4. Rent a car at Orlando, and drop it off at Ft. Lauderdale. You just pay a day's rental fee (with Avis) and then take a taxi to the cruise port. The cab ride is less than $20. Make a reservation early for the car, both ways.

    Regards,

    Dan

  5. Just tell your Travel Agent, and he or she can arrange either transportation from the Cruise Line, or a private company shuttle.

    There are dozens of options.

  6. you dont really say which port you are leaving from but i use a excellent shuttle company out of orland to the post of canaveral

if you are leaving from Fll to the port of miami then i suggest http://www.floridalimo.com/

i have used both many times and have not had an issue with them

  7. If you are cruising out of Port Canaveral you have three options:

    (1) check with your cruise lines to see if what are called "Transfers" are available.  They are simply a bus ride from the airport to the ship and back.  They are charged per person, so everyone in your party would have to pay for one.  From Orlando to Canaveral and back my guess is the transfers will be about $50 to $60 per person.

    (2) You can rent a car in Orlando at the airport and drop it off  at the port; Enterprise rental car company does this.  Others may also.

    (3) there are private van services between Orlando airport and Port Canaveral.  Here's a van service:  http://www.mearstransportation.com/Cruis...

The Port of Canaveral web site has a long listing of van services that you can peruse and call to make reservations:  http://www.portcanaveral.org/cruising/gr...

  8. Depending on your cruise line, there may be a shuttle from the airport which will take you to the port. If not, you will have to take a taxi from the airport to the port.

    Hope this helps.

  9. there is a company called mears transportation that offers shuttle service fo $40.00 each way to Port Canaveral.  You can also rent a car from Enterprise and one way it to Cape Canaveral and they will give you a shuttle ride.  Of course you'll have to rent a car to get back. I'm doing this method next month when we go out of Port Canaveral.

  10. There is a shuttle to take you to the port. Check with your travel agent for transfers.  They should have advised you of the cost.  If you purchased air through the cruise line then it should be included. If not its about $60 pp round trip.

We as cruise consultants would have advised you of this when booking your cruise.
