the movies are stereotyping things.

I've never known anyone to get beat up, and while yes, you should only ask teachers or friends where to go the first day of school (if you're lost), as some students might think it's funny to tell you wrong, nothing will happen.

I mean, nobody hates freshmen unless you're annoying and loud and bother them, but that's like normal.

Just concentrate on your grades and friends and I promise you'll be fine!!

Okay, first get a grip. Nowadays, anyone who picks on freshman gets in serious trouble...a local school where I live threatened seniors especially that if they pick on the freshman, they don't walk at graduation, and they followed through with the threat, if I remember correctly. Just be yourself, don't pick fights, and you should be perfectly fine. Like you said "I see those movies"...that's exactly it, they're MOVIES! They exaggerate things waaaay too much.
