How and how much do cultural anthropologits get paid?

At the university I go to, the average teacher's salary is 130k a year.  This does not include royalties from books, which I have no idea about.  I would imagine that someone like Jared Diamond would make something around 300k for his books.

If you use your degree to teach, it depends on the university, if you get grants to do research and publish a book for the general public that sells well, much much more.

In Australia they get paid between 30 and 40 thousand a year. Thats the general pay rate for them. thats for a university supported position. they could get paid more if the worked int he commercial world.
