I have been to church ceremonies in which people under 21 are given alcohol (wine).. is this legal? and why?

I do not think that religious freedom pertains here, because some religions may require the use of illegal substances..

  1. you report it the police who will in turn hand it over to a detective for investigation, unless he find case law that says it's legal (but churches, i believe, are supposed to be using grape juice for minors)

  2. Lighten up! Its not like they are giving them a glass of wine. It is just a sip. During a Bris, the Mohel puts a drop of wine on an eight day old baby boy's tongue, would you like to report them too?

  3. You would not report it to no one. Get a life.

  4. Its' not really wine...it's grape juice (more than likely Welch's)

  5. A religious ceremony is an exception to the law regarding underage consumption, at least in our state.

  6. In most states, a minor may consume alcohol while in the view of the minor's parents. If you're talking about a minor being given a bit of wine during the sacrament, call away. You just get added to the crank list.

  7. Ur talking about Catholic church masses.. The wine symbolizes the blood of Christ..

And yes its legal..get over urself

lol.its not Grape juice its wine..

Does this offend u? Cause i think ur just acting dumb to see what ppl would say

GOLDEN: Go to a Catholic church on Sunday..So u can see.. We eat bread and drink wine..it symbolizes the blood and boby of christ

  8. really?  real wine?  i don't think so; no american churches use real wine these days.  doesn't matter, churches are allowed sacraments.  some religions may "require the use of illegal substances."  kinda points out the big differences between man's law and god's.
