How and what can I use to repair a 1/4 inch tear on my leather seat cushion of my couch?

I'm baffled by all of the repair kts advertized online. Ive already tried Target and Lowes... they didn't have any. I'm trying to save money. I really can't afford to pay more than 20 or 30 dollars... help! Experienced people plz answer... thanks!

I would stitch it myself.   It adds character, and it will be stronger than any adhesives or patches!
