So you can't use concrete blocks? I wouldn't think wood would last very long and would be more prone to collapse. I will place beams under it but I thought they are concrete all the way around them. It will be totally buried.

  1. ever heard of liquid nail

  2. honestly dude, if it is a bunker/shelter for a storm, why does it need to be so nice? But, and easy way is to buy wood from home depot,(preferably thick) and nail it in to the top, then take a rubber seal, you can also find this at home depot, and make sure to get all of the craks, and the wood with it,(this will prevent leaking), then get plaster, also at home depot, and cover it, if done correctly it soud turn out great. if you want ideas on carpeting email me.

  3. Go to a commercial roofing supply house such as Allied or Bradco and ask for B-Decking.  You see this stuff used on commercial roofs as the decking before the roofing goes on. It is a steel panel. It kind of looks like a corugated panel except the corrugations are wider and much stronger.  the panels usually are readily available in 3x10 and 3x12 foot sizes.  Once this is done you can pur concrete over it to make even more solid or you can just backfill with dirt.  Be sure that your structural beams are adequate to support the weight of what is above.
