I started my Avacado tree from a seed from my son's tree. It has been 8 and 1/2 years and now it is full of avacados. I am so pleased. It is also sprouting my limbs. What do I do?

  1. Congratulations!

Generally avocados are clones grafted onto disease resistant root stock. Have you tried one of the avos yet? If they're not up to snuff, Avocado is the easiest tree to graft.

Light trimming can be done at any time of the year because avocado trees are evergreen. If you want to do heavy trimming on the tree, you should only do it in late winter or early spring.
