This question seems dumb, but in turtles -or sea turtles- for example the s*x is determined by the temperature during the hatching process. If, for instance, the nest is in a cooler place all the eggs turn to male turtles and if it is in a warmer place all turn female. Is it similar with chickens? Or is the s*x genetically determined?

  1. its definetly to do with the genetics

but there is also a wives tale that u can try out...i think it was that rounder eggs are female and more oval eggs are male or vice versa

but it is definetly not to do with anything before the eggs hatches, like turtles,

    hope ive helped

    good luck

this link is about pet chickens.. I  have several.. there is no way of controlling the gender to my knowledge.

    its genetic.. same like people..

  3. They can be determined when they are a day or 2 old. You would get the chick, look under the chicks wing, and look at the row of feathers. If the chick is a male, they would have rows of long feathers. If the chick is a female, the rows on the wing would be longs and short rows.
