Is there something special about the condition of trash versus fresh food?

  1. They lay eggs on the garbage and the eggs turn into maggots. Maggots are fly larve. The larve feeds from the garbage. Lovely subject too.


  2. Fly larva eat decaying food because they need to eat yeasts and bacteria that are in the decaying material.

Not trash, garbage.  Yes, food starts to break down really fast, therefore it attracts flies.  Flies need softer matter to lay eggs in.  The maggots need it as well to grow in.  At least those species of flies that do this.  Many species of flies do not need rotting matter to raise a new generation.

It is like going to a very rich country to give birth to your first child. there is abundance of resources, there is security, there is food, social support, unemployment benefit, the offspring will have no other choice other than to survive.There is security in the trash can and dirty food contain more bacteria and offer more surface area for access
