settlements grow because we're making babies ... once the family felt like there isn't enough spaces for their family to live in they move on

they move into another place along with others who feel the same way and that's how we get the growing settlements

as the population grows the no. of people incresses who require houses for shelter hence the settlements increase

water first. no water, no settlement. notice most major cities are near or on waterways?

if water was not pipe lined to las vegas it would not exist. commerce! without it, a city does'nt grow.
