  1. one revolution of the earth around the moon is a 28 day cycle

as the earth revolves, we view the moon at a different angle.....

it starts out as a new moon in which the bright side of the moon is not visible from earth, and there apears to be no moon.

next we see the waxing crescent, which in which the moon looks like a big c waxing, is when the moon is getting larger

then it goes to a 1st quarter moon in which 1 half of the moon is showing.

next it goes to a waxing gibous in which the moon look like a football in the sky as it gets bigger.

then its a full moon in which the bright side of the moon is facing earth.

then it goes to a waning gibous which is the same shape as the other gibous on the moon is getting smaller

next it goes to a 3rd quarter moon in which the other half of the moon is showing.

then it goes to a waning crescent in which the moon is in a c shape again as it gets smaller

and then it goes back to a new moon!

    hope i helped you!
