How animals without outer ears like earthworms, snakes, and fish sense sounds?

  1. Snakes pick up vibrations from the ground (and possibly though the air) via their jaw bone, which is then transmitted to their brain - so like other animals with normal ears they are able to detect small vibrations which we think of as sound.


  2. these animals feel vibrations n some snakes  hav sensory pits,some insects hav antennae(cockroaches)..etc.etc.

  3. They can feel the vibrations through there skin.

  4. Remember there is such thing of 5 senses. so when a fish senses sounds they could use there sense of touch because they could feel the vibration or the moves of a another animal. hope could help. good bless.
