How annoying are Boston fans? I'm about ready to punch my cousin and uncle in the face

It's like they forgot what it's like not to win in every sport. They go on annoying rants, and then when I try to point out one player from my city is good, like Chase Utley (Phillie), theysay h'es a "nobody" and rub it in my face and when I try to prove them wrong with stats they go "well we got rings!!!" So annoying. I can't stand it, it seriously drives me crazy. Sorryif there's any good Boston fans out there, which I'm sure there are, just these two andsome others give you a bad name at times.

Boston fans are probably the most annoying fans in all of sports.  I used to hate New York fans because the Yankees always won the World Series, but New York fans were usually quiet and let their teams' play do the talking.

Every Boston fan I know, however, feels such a great need to tell me how great of a sports town Boston is because all of their teams win championships.  They love to talk about how their front offices are so smart and their players are so amazing all because in the 90s the Patriots, Red Sox, and Celtics were mediocre at best.

I actually have a lot of respect for the Patriots because they win so much in a salary cap league where all teams are on a level competitive field.  The Celtics made some good trades but when it boils down to it, the Celts and Red Sox won championships because they had owners who were willing to spend ungodly amounts of dough to obtain the best players.

Regardless, Boston fans are annoying and I can't wait until they get put back in their place.

Ah, and I thought I was the only one who thought they are annoying! Yes, some of them are extremely obnoxious, arrogant, ungrateful (almost all their teams won championships), and they always finding something to complain about. If they're not complaining, they're gloating. Boston fans, start showing a little respect and stop worshiping yourself. Look how you drove away Manny Ramirez!

The only fans in Boston who are bad are the bandwagon fans & I think all 3 teams have bandwagon fans, Red Sox after the 2004 season, the 2007-008 celtics after winning 24 games the previous season & start winning & fans show up & the 2007-2008 patriots who were going for the ultimate perfect season & well we all know what happened that game.  Boston does have many loyal fans but the bandwagon fans make Boston & hated sports city

im a boston and yes we are obnoxiouse but so are yeankees fans and so are all fans in some so way and all you can do is suck it up were passoinate about baseball and weve had some of the greatest players of all time but thats my opinion

Obnoxious fans exist in all sports for all teams.

Look at it this way: If Chase Utley went to the Red Sox, they sure wouldn't be calling him a "nobody." They'd be foaming at the mouth. I'm a Twins fan & I know Utley is somebody!!!

As far as the rings argument, the players & coaches earned those rings. I'd simply smile & tell anyone who says that "Well that's great for the team. Were you playing for the Sox at the time? No? OK, then YOU don't have a ring."

Boston is the new drama capital of sports.  With classless players and even more classless fans what do you expect.  Let me cite some examples for you.....

Brady and his fake ankle injury before the superbowl

Schilling and his fake bloody sock in the playoffs

Pierce and his wheelchair stunt.  

Use those sort of things to get back at them.  Also, if you want to make fun of the red sox...just tell them it took them 86 years to buy their championships.  They know it, but probably wont admit it.

I lived in Boston for 9 years and I'm a Yankee fan. The problem with Boston fans is that once they win a Championship they think that they are the only ones who opinion matter it does not matter if you are talking baseball, football or hockey. Not all Boston fans are jerks just most!

I have a few friends that are sox fans, and they are quite annoying when baseball season rolls around. They talk about how they won the series and i come back with 26.. and then they tell me to stop living in the past. The fact is red sox fans are either hypocrits or bandwagon fans.

There are good Boston fans, but a lot are obnoxious. I'm a Yankee fan, so I don't like listening to Red Sock fans telling Yankee fans not to talk about the past, and then saying they've won 2 of the last 4. That's called being a hypocrite. So I see what you're saying. Chase Utley isn't a nobody, he's more of a somebody than all but 1 (count 'em, one) Red Sox hitter (Ortiz).

Edit: Don't even get me STARTED on what Pierce pulled last year.
