  1. Hi there I'm Italian-American

    Italian DON'T HATE american

In Italy everybody has a great sense of competition so they want to be better...

They suffer of a great sense of Inferiority toward english speaker people

    Just avoid Intellectual people!!!

they bother a lot asking about Politic...

    Ciao Ciao

  2. I just returned from Italy in March, I didn't feel any hate against me.  However there are anti-American statements graffittied on the walls.  Mostly it has to do with the war.  I had a great time.

  3. no way. i think italians think italians are the best, but americans arnt the worst.  At least your coming from a country of money and freedom.  I think they hate morrocans and russians much more than americans

  4. Italians don't hate americans. You will have a great time. Learn how to say please -- per favore and thank you -- grazie politeness is appreciated and also some other key phrases like good monring goosd afternoon etc. that will help. Tourism is a big industry for them.   Italian men like women from  anywhere .

When my sister was there sometimes they thought she was German cause she's blond and kinda German looking and didn't get treated so well until they found out she asn't German.

  5. Do not worry! Most of the Italians are tolerant and peaceful, usually very kind to tourists.

However, a sort of sense of anti-americanism can be strong when talking about politics ( most of the Italians are usually against the war), religion (against the death penalty), nature (U.S.A. are the biggest CFC producers in the whole world, thus responsibile for the global warming).

Nobody will tell you anything about it because an 18year girl is not responsible for anything!

    Enjoy yourself and relax.

  6. It is not true , Italians don't hate americans ! but i cannot say the same about bush politic way ! if you are not the niece , cusin , familiares of Bush family there are no problem .

In Italy there are some USA army Base , never happen someone attack a marine when he was going around alone after a work day . in italy there are USA school for usa students , thousands of americans from usa . Never happened that someone was attaked because HE/ she is an american ! ....it happened sometimes that in a march against war someone burnt a usa flag ! this event is very rare , so rare that when it happend tv news spoken about it , but that action was against BUsh politic way , not against americans people ! for example in the last march against war joined also some americans walking with italians .

exist anti-war group but don't exist anti usa citizen group in italy .

  7. Hi Allie, I am Italian and I confirm that is not true that we hate Americans (nor Mexicans or Russians!). In general it's true that Italians are against the war in Iraq, but not against American people. Just be careful to pickpockets if you take the bus in middle-great cities. If you got the chance come to Bologna (1hour from Florence, 2h from Milan), nice town with lot of young people, being a popular university centre.

  8. Ciao, Allie,

don't be afraid, Italians don't hate American people, they eventually hate American Politics, and even in this case, not all. Instead, prepare yourself, if you are 18 and even beautiful, to defend yourself from a lot of Italian boys that would appreciate your language, nationality and youth. Then, if you'll meet some idiots, remember, all countries have a little percentage of them. Ciao and have a very nice holiday.

    Italiano D.O.C.

  9. Money!!!   Like all countries that have tourists.   Pops

  10. its not true Italians don't hate Americans

but they don't like arrogance and some tourists that think they own the place

you ll have lots of fun I am going there in 2 weeks! :)
