  1. Archeology is a subfield of Anthropology which literaly means the study of Old things, it is similar to anthropology because it focuses on OLD human things. The important differentiation here is that Archeology is the study of human stuff like buildings, while anthropology is the study of people themselves.

  2. both studies have to do with human history, archeology is the study of artifacts used by humans while anthropology is the study of human bones

  3. Archeology is considered a sub field of anthropology.  Both field seek to understand humans and how they live. But Anthropology seeks a holistic approach while archeology tries to understand past society.

  4. Archaeology -bones. Anthropology-human culture.

  5. Anthropology is the study of man (and women) and their culture. Archeology is the study of ancient civilizations. Archeology is a sub field of Anthropology.

  6. Archaeology is a sub-discipline of anthropology.  All disciplines of anthropology seek to better understand aspects of humanity.

Archaeology tries to understand people of the past by examining the remains they leave behind. By "remains" I do not mean their bones, I am referring more to discarded goods, trash, etc.  A lot can be learned about peoples behavior and day to day lives by examining occupation sites.

if by anthropology you are referring to cultural or applied anthropology, that is the study of living people. Usually done by participant observation and ethnographies.

    btw I'm an archaeologist.

  7. Anthropology isn't the study of human bones it is the study of human in general.  Archeaology is part of anthropology.
