My school dress code says that we aren't allowed to wear LA Dodgers hats! That its a gang reference, any ideas why?

  1. The L.A. Dodger hat is a typical hat worn by Sureno Gang Members from Southern California (you might know them as MS-13).  It can also be a sign of Crip affiliation.

Because both of these gangs are spread out all over the country, it's no surprise that certain schools would try to prevent them from being worn.

  2. Because of the gangs in your area.

  3. Does it say LA Dodgers hats specifically, or just hats in general? I know that hats when turned, signify gang allegiance in some silly way.  So schools have taken the authority to create dress codes so as not to create problems in school.

  4. Probably because they're blue...

We couldn't wear solid red at my school...across town, they couldn't wear blue.  I imagine this is why...bloods and crips
