  1. Studded tires will not overcome the short wheelbase and the high center of gravity. No modern safety features, no stability control, no ABS, no side airbags.

  2. If you are carefull, you'll have no problems. The biggest thing is the short wheelbase, they can come around on you pretty quick. I have a '90 Ranger regular cab short bed that I bought new. It has a 108" wheelbase and I have to kinda take it easy going around corners in 2 or 4 wheel drive. In 2 wheel when it's bad out, the back will come around easy. In 4 wheel, the front end will sometimes try to pull the truck straight instead of turning. These problems are not unique to my truck, but, all 4x4's in general. Just take it easy and you'll be fine as long as you have good tires on it. Also remember-they're not race cars.

  3. I have two of things and i love them i all so build mud trucks don't worry about getting stuck as long as you let off the gas on the corners don't stomp on the brakes just tap and it makes it easyer to stop if you put it in N that way there is no pull on the tires listen to me and you are in 4x4 heaven!!!!

  4. yikes! ...those things tend to tip over a lot, no?

  5. aside from the fact that they are top heavy and a short wheel base making them hard to control on snowy roads, as long as your 4 wheel drive works and you have a decent set of tires just keep it on the road and you shouldn't have to worry bout getting stuck.
