  1. It is most commonly known that Lenz formulated 'Lenz's Law' as an addition to Faraday's Law for Electromagnetic Inductance. Faraday proposed the idea that the induced electromotive force was proportional to the change in the incident flux. Lenz took that one step further and postulated that the direction of the induced current would be in opposition of the 'pre-existing' current - so as to oppose natural current flow.

    Today, this principle (EM inductance) is used to generate the power necessary for you to study this phenomenon - i.e. generating the power necessary for you to turn on your computer, access the internet and ask this question on Yahoo! Answers.
