How are Hospitals evacuated?

I think the title says it all, but i mean to say should the Fire Suppression System Fail... what would they do to get people out...

  1. Generally in the event of a fire patients are moved horizontally and moved behind fire doors on the same floor. Hospitals are equipped with sprinkler systems that can flood a floor very quickly. In the event that option fails then patients are moved vertically. Patients not able to walk will be carried down.
