How are Malaysians different from Filipinos?

now, no discriminatory remarks please. just state what makes them different - culturally, physically etc. and, could it be we have the same traits after all?

Hahahha.. i find this question difficult to answer. I am Filipino. But i think whats the difference between Filipinos and Malaysians are we are friendly i mean very approachable than any other nationality, we are polite and very hospitable too. I can also notice that Mostly Malaysians they only wants to make friends and socialize to their same nationality whih is very unlikely in Philppines.. we Filipinos really find interesting to socialize and hang-out with other nationality becuase we wants to know and learn their culture which very much interesting for us...I lived here in Malaysia and i can see the difference.

Annabelle, to answer your Q, i don't really know either.  If I just base my answer to my experiences in both YAM and YAP, I would say, i can relate more with the varied kind of humor of YAM people. At YAP, I find that the kind of insulting answers is sometimes intolerable.   And the humor is a bit bland, heheh! But with respect to the manner of answering questions of other nature, I realize we Filipinos have our distinct train of thoughts and ideas that are really different.  Usually in YAP, I end up not answering many Q's anymore because many others have posted the answer i want to give.  Here in YAM, I get to give my other views, though I find too that there are others here who have said what i wanted to say first.  Especially Cactuar and BBL, lol!

But of course, YAP and YAM people do not represent each other's nationalities,  far from it.  Still, i find i learned some basic differences.  And to top it all, many basic and important similarities as well.:)

First of all, I have to say that Im not Filipino or Malaysian but I had live in those countries. One major different is, Filipino personality are milder than Malaysian and Filipino are more polite.

Filipinos have Malay background, just that they have a different language and way of life; also food products and/or spices and culture...But skin type and other physicality are pretty much the same
