  1. Chocolate does not have milk unless manufacturers add it.  It's quite easy to find vegan chocolate products.  Unfortunately, most conventional chocolate companies add milk to their dark chocolate (why?).

I prefer Newman O's as they don't have HFCS and use some organic ingredients, unlike Oreos.

  2. they have chemicals. they are not vegan.  They are vegetarian though.

  3. Chocolate is made from a bean. Do you seriously think that Oreos have dairy in the cookie while being so dry and not smooth at all?

Chocolate does not have to contain dairy.

Some Oreos contain whey depending on what factory they are made in.

All Oreos are pointless c**p that can hardly be considered food. That is the best reason to avoid them.

  4. First of all, real chocolate is vegan. Only certain chocolates contain animal products. Oreo cookies are vegan, with the except those vegans who do not eat sugar.

Ingredients: SUGAR, ENRICHED FLOUR (WHEAT FLOUR, NIACIN, REDUCED IRON, THIAMINE MONONITRATE [VITAMIN B1], RIBOFLAVIN [VITAMIN B2], FOLIC ACID), HIGH OLEIC CANOLA OIL AND/OR PALM OIL AND/OR CANOLA OIL, COCOA (PROCESSED WITH ALKALI), HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP, BAKING SODA, CORNSTARCH, SALT, SOY LECITHIN (EMULSIFIER), VANILLIN-AN ARTIFICIAL FLAVOR, CHOCOLATE.

  5. Cookies contain eggs, eggs come from chicken-CHICKEN IS MEAT!!

  6. Read the ingredients.  Chocolate doesn't have milk naturally.  Oreos do not contain milk.

  7. Well first off chocolate doesn't contain milk naturally so no chocolate doesn't have milk unless its added to enhance the flavor. And the chocolate in Oreos is that chocolate that doesn't contain milk. Thats why the cookie doesn't taste like chocolate you get from Hershey or those other famous brands of chocolate.

  8. Chocolate does not "have milk."  Chocolate is a plant product and is 100% vegan until and unless someone adds milk to it.  Check the labels on high quality dark chocolate: you'll find no milk (cheaper stuff usually has some.)

And it's not like Nabisco goes out and buys chocolate bars to make Oreos out of.  They use cocoa which is, again, a plant product.

Now, whether or not Oreos are vegan depends on where you are.  Read the ingredients.  In the US they are vegan because all of the ingredients are vegan.  But recipes change across time and vary from location to location.  Two decades ago when I went vegetarian, I had to give up Oreos because they had beef fat in them.  In Europe the recipe they use is not vegan (but I don't know what the culprit is there, not likely beef fat, but maybe milk products.)  I don't know if Canadian Oreos use the US recipe or not (Doritos, for example, use a different ingredient list on either side of the border.)

  9. Most oreos are vegan. Some are distributed from different locations and may contain ingrediants unsuitable for vegans or vegetarians. Always read labels, companies have a bad habit of changing ingrediants. When in doubt contact by phone or email.

Chemicals are vegan if they do not contain animal.

  10. Have you read the product label? (I'm not so sure).

Anyway, Chocolate is made from COCOA seeds, not cow bowels.

  11. I am a vegan and I LOVE Oreos! But I don't eat them often because they are not very healthy.

How are they vegan? They don't have any animal flesh in them, and they don't have any animal byproducts in them such as dairy or eggs. Therefore, they are vegan friendly and an ethical source of deliciousness.

Edit: Only milk chocolate has milk. Regular chocolate doesn't. Regular chocolate is technically a vegetable, as it comes from a cacoa tree. :)

  12. It is vegan.  If you read the ingredients it has no dairy or egg in it.  If it had milk in it it would be listed in the ingredients.  Patito, they are too vegan.  Having chemicals doesnt affect anything.  As long as their is no dairy or egg in them then they are vegan.  I am a vegan and I eat them.

  13. Oreos may be vegan, but they are highly processed and contain high fructose corn syrup (HFCS).  HFCS is one of THE most unhealthy things you can eat.  It's mostly what's making America into a bunch of obese diabetics and it's in almost EVERYTHING processed, even "healthy" wheat breads.

Why would I put that in my body?

  14. Milk chocolate has milk.  Chocolate in it's pure form..contains no milk.
