  1. they are different because they are opposites. To pollute is to  harm and to conserve is to protect.

  2. Pollution is damaging the Environment

Conservation is trying to save and heal it

    they are opposites

  3. This is like asking how are toilet paper and Gatorade are different. They're 2 completely different things.

Pollution is putting anything unnatural into an environment which results in deteriorating effects on nature and may endanger human health, harm living resources and ecosystems, and impair or interfere with amenities and other legitimate uses of the environment. It is not limited to trash, it can be light or noise too.

There are different types of conservation but they all revolve around using natural resources properly. But the term conservation is usually used to describe te movement to protect wildlife and natural landscapes. But it can also mean to save things. Like energy conservation is to conserve electricity.

  4. Pollution and Conservation are 2 entirely different things.  Pollution is the by product of human activity (car exhaust, motor oil, paint, industrial by products, or even heat), but conservation is a method to make less impact on the environment.  Conservation is the using of less/ more effective materials to achieve the same thing, (using less gasoline in the car, using more effective motor oil, using less paint so not as much drips into the storm drain, using less material to make less by products, or using cooler appliances to generate less heat).

  5. How are they alike?  Pollution is damaging to the environment, conservation is a practice that ideally reduces or prevents pollution.

  6. Conservation is the wise use of a resource.

Pollution is the addition of a substance (pollutant) that reduces the "purity" or usefulness of a resource.  Pollution can come from natural events such as volcanoes, forest fires, etc. as well as humans.

  7. They are very different.  In fact they aren't even comparable.

Pollution is the environmentally damaging byproduct of human activity.

Conservation is a noun that refers to the act of conserving- keepig things from being lost or used.  In an environmental sense, this means using or damaging less stuff- particularly resources and ecosystems.
